Republicans to Act on Maxine Waters’ Inciting Comments, One Has Question for Pelosi – RedState

As we reported yesterday, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was in Brooklyn Center at a BLM protest. She demanded a guilty verdict from the jurors at the Chauvin trial and urged protesters to be “more confrontational,” saying people “need to know that we mean business.”

After she made her comments Saturday night, members of the National Guard who were patrolling with police in Minneapolis were shot at. Two were slightly injured in the incident, one from flying glass and the other had superficial injuries.

Many Republicans blasted her actions, decrying that a member of Congress to behave in that manner.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) decried her remarks and also pointed out how she was encouraging people to break the curfew that was in place to deter violence.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said she would be introducing a resolution to expel Waters from Congress.

Greene declared that Waters’ comments demanding a guilty verdict were a threat to the jury and an abuse of power.

So Greene had an interesting question for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

“Speaker Pelosi, you impeached President Trump after you said he incited violence by saying “march peacefully” to the Capitol,” Green declared. “So I can expect a yes vote from you on my resolution to expel @RepMaxineWaters for inciting violence, riots, and abusing power threatening a jury, right?”

Now you would think that it would be self-evident that making the kind of comments that Waters made, especially as a sitting member of Congress, inflaming the situation, should call for a response or some kind of action. But it’ll likely be a cold day in hell before Pelosi would actually do anything.

But it does sound like Greene’s action and the remarks of the other Republicans might have caused some movement on the part of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Ca). McCarthy said if Pelosi didn’t take action, he would.

Now, as we noted, it’s unlikely that such a resolution would go anywhere because of Democratic control of the House. But if they move a resolution it will put all the Democrats on record and show what hypocrites they are on the subject, how empty and political they are if they don’t take any action in regard to Waters.
