James O’Keefe Calls Into CNN’s Morning Conference Call, Tells Startled Jeff Zucker He’s Going to Release Two Months of Calls Tonight; Then LOL

As a longtime political writer, one of my favorite targets has been CNN. I’ve delighted in torching the network that laughably dubs itself The Most Trusted Name in News™ — I include the trademark as an extra jab — a ridiculously false description of a network that spent eight years as Obama News Network, four years as Trump Derangement Syndrome News Network, and is now giddily morphing into Biden News Network.

Needless to say, my delight continued when I learned that James O’Keefe of Project Veritas fame — infamy if you happen to be one of O’Keefe’s targets —called into CNN’s morning conference call on Tuesday, which was being led by CNN President Jeff Zucker, and told the embattled Zucker he’d been listening to their morning conference calls for two months and that he’s going to release them tonight. [Cue: pin-drop.]

O’Keefe live-streamed the call, audio included.

“Mr. Zucker, are you there? Hey, this is James O’Keefe. We’ve been listening to your CNN calls for basically two months, and recording everything. I just wanted to ask you some questions if you have a minute.

“Do you still feel you’re the most trusted name in news, because I have to say from what I’ve been hearing on these phone calls, I don’t know about that; we have a lot of recordings that indicate you’re not really that independent as a journalist.”

After a pregnant pause, an obviously startled Zucker said, “Um, thank you for your calls,” as he tried to return to some semblance of control of the call. Then came the following.

“So everybody, I think in light of that we’ll set up a new system and we’ll be back with you. We’ll do the rest of the call later.”

The call was cut off as O’Keefe began to ask another question.

Can you imagine what Zucker did as soon as he abruptly ended the conference call, frantically and angrily trying to get to the bottom of “How in the hell was that bastard O’Keefe able record our f**king conference calls? For two f**king months!!!”

Not to mention everyone else on the call, panic-stricken as they tried to remember what they’ve said on what they believed were secure calls.

Ah to be the proverbial fly on the CNN wall for that meltdown.
