Chicago Mayor Tells Reporters, ‘What I Really Want to Say To Trump ‘Begins with F, Ends with U”

 

President Trump sent the following tweets on Friday:

These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!

Looting leads to shooting, and that’s why a man was shot and killed in Minneapolis on Wednesday night — or look at what just happened in Louisville with 7 people shot. I don’t want this to happen, and that’s what the expression put out last night means.

The left was incensed by the remarks accusing him of encouraging violence against the protestors rioters. Among this group was Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Anyway, being the classy lady that she is, she addressed the President’s tweets at a press conference on Friday. She told reporters:

It’s impossible for me as a black woman who has been the target of blatant racism over the course of my life not to take the killing of George Floyd personally. Watching that poor man beg for his life and for the ability to breathe and then watching the life leave him there on the streets I felt angry, I feel sickened and a range of other emotions all at once,” Lightfoot said at a moving press briefing Friday.

Being black in America shouldn’t be a death sentence.

Let me say one other thing. Donald Trump’s comment last night was profoundly dangerous. And we must stand in firm solidarity and say this is totally unacceptable no matter who is the speaker.

“His goal is to polarize to destabilize local government and to inflame racists’ urges. And we can absolutely not let him prevail. And I will code what I really want to say to Donald Trump, it’s two words, it begins with ‘f’ and it ends with ‘u.’

Nice.

Is Mayor Lightfoot suggesting we should stand down and do nothing as buildings are torched in cities across America? Does she believe they are “entitled” and “right” as her counterpart in Minneapolis does?

Apparently, she does. She reigns over a city well-known for its violence.

Chicago police Superintendent David Brown told WTTW that Chicago had its most violent and bloodiest Memorial Day weekend in five years. He said 49 people had been shot and ten killed. And none of this had anything to do with the death of George Floyd. He said this was “nothing short of alarming” and called it an “unacceptable level of violence.”

Lightfoot has made the news twice in the last month because of her heavy handedness in enforcing the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Last week, President Trump declared that churches, synagogues, and places of worship were essential and called on them to reopen across the country. Lightfoot, who has grown too fond of her emergency powers told reporters this was “foolish and dangerous.“

Courtney Lewis, the pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in the Southside of Chicago, spoke to radio host Todd Starnes on Sunday and told him he had been delivering his sermon that morning “when he heard loud banging on front doors. It was the police and they were denied entry into the sanctuary.”

Lightfoot had “dispatched three squad cars and two unmarked cars filled with armed officers. A representative from the mayor’s office was also present.” He noted it was “like the Soviet-style KGB.”

Tolerance.

Earlier this month, Lightfoot’s office issued a warning to Chicagoans not to hold parties in their homes. She wanted her constituents to know she was not playing. They were to stay home (in their own homes). In the video below, with Superintendent Brown by her side, she tells them:

Now, I’ve directed Superintendent Brown to order all police districts to give special attention to these parties and this is how it’s going to be. We will shut you down. We will cite you and if we need to, we will arrest you and we take you to jail. Period. There should be nothing ambiguous about that. Don’t make us treat you like a criminal. But if you act like a criminal and you violate the law, and you refuse to do what’s necessary to save lives in the city in the middle of a pandemic, we will take you to jail. Period.

So, Lightfoot doesn’t think those who destroy buildings and businesses should be shot, but she would send five cars full of armed policemen to disrupt a church service and would drag people who held a party in their home to jail. Period. But didn’t she just say, “if you act like a criminal and you violate the law, and you refuse to do what’s necessary to save lives in the city in the middle of a pandemic, we will take you to jail. Period.” Hmmm.

As I wrote in an earlier post, Americans are unanimous in their condemnation of fired police officer Derek Chauvin’s heinous act last Monday. If there is anyone who has said it’s okay, I’m not aware of it. But allowing the destruction of property and businesses worth millions, does absolutely nothing to right the wrong which happened.

Those who participate in the riots that have spread across America aren’t exercising their constitutional rights to free speech and peaceful assembly. The Constitution doesn’t grant citizens the right to destroy property and steal because they’re angry. These people are criminals who are committing criminal acts. And they need to be stopped.
