Hello, this is Anton Galushko, CEO of California Movers. The world faces uncertain times ahead. A global pandemic has created a state unlike any seen across the globe. Millions of people are sheltering within their homes in an effort to stem the rise of COVID-19, a highly contagious respiratory illness. The disease causes the most serious symptoms and possible deaths among elderly people and those with underlying conditions. Even younger people are not immune to danger. With deaths and cases slowly tapering, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Many people across the United States are practicing social distancing and are sheltering at home to stem the rise of the pandemic. This means fewer people are moving about, not just during their day, but also as part of regular or seasonal travel. People not considered essential to the support of infrastructure, medical, and food are encouraged or required to work from home or seek unemployment as many businesses close in the interim. With fewer people on the move, it means many plans have been postponed or canceled. Concerts, movie screenings, travel, and the like are being moved to later in the year or outright cancelled to prevent further spread.
People traveling less also means people moving less. As the CEO of a moving company, I and the company overall have also had to endure hard times as people stay at home and postpone moves. We are considered an essential business, and the safety of our employees and customers of course comes first. We are ready to handle all your moving needs when you can once again travel safely and securely.
Some people might be tempted to move away from heavily affected areas to less stricken regions. This might spread the disease and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. For those that must move in these trying times, remember to adhere to the same guidelines utilized throughout the crisis. That means wearing personal protective equipment where possible, maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet from other people who are not living with you, and avoiding gathering in groups.
In 2019, almost 31 million people, almost 10% of the entire population of the United States, moved home. Throughout an American’s lifespan, they move on average about 11 times. The numbers for 2020 will be a long way off, but they are sure to skew these numbers drastically. Our company, California Movers, is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our employees and our customers. With California experiencing a stay at home order, and in severe crisis, our primary concern is of course the safety and health of ourselves, our customers, and our state.
Traditionally, Californians move across the country, while others in far off states move to our home state. Popular locations for California movers are Texas, Arizona, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon. Such states are now either relatively free of the pandemic or are also major sources of the disease. We, of course, are aware of the dangers of relocation and moving in these trying times, but as said earlier, sometimes conditions do force a move even during a crisis. We are taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved in our efforts, from the drivers and loaders all the way to our clients.
We are classified as an essential business and remain operational 24/7 to see to the needs of our state and our nation. As our website proudly declares:
“Please also know we continue to maintain our high standards for safety and cleanliness. In addition to practicing preventative measures to reduce the spread of germs within our facilities, all of our moving trucks and equipment goes through a rigorous, multi-step cleaning process before each move. We remain vigilant in upholding these practices and will take additional precautions as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.”
As a moving company, we understand the need to move and relocate, to start a new chapter in one’s life away from their old homes. Even in these trying and uncertain times, such new chapters are being forged and it is vital that everyone involved in the moving process maintains safe and healthy practices in order to prevent the spread of disease and flatten the curve. The future of the nation, and its respective states, rests on all our abilities to follow the guidelines put forth by the Center for Disease Control. Already, those guidelines are starting to show progress so we must remain vigilant and cautious.
Everyone involved in the moving process must use personal protective equipment and maintain both social and physical distancing measures. This can be tricky while undertaking a move, but is a vital part of flattening the curve and preventing the spread of COVID-19. The results of social distancing are making themselves known in new data on a daily basis. Those who must move should follow such guidelines to ensure the health and safety of themselves, their old community, their new community, and our employees.
We are still here to keep Americans moving and ready to continue with their lives. Though those lives might face uncertain times, we can at least handle the hard part of relocating belongings from an old chapter to a new one in a family’s life. What awaits us all at the end of this pandemic is unclear, but we are dedicated to ensuring those who continue to hire us to meet their needs remain safe and able to tackle the future.
We are all in this together. Whether you are doing your bit by staying at home or you’re an essential worker or business, through it all we are a community dedicated to ensuring the future prosperity of the nation. Before, during, and after this crisis, our company is ready, willing, and able to handle all essential moving needs. We greatly appreciate the consideration shown by our customers in these trying times, and look forward to providing the same quality and care in our services we always have. As CEO I will make sure we all get through this together.
